ti-cups & wrist bands

Post by barney »

I've noticed in a few photos that people have wristbands (Help For Heros etc.) around the top of their ti-cups.

Is this for a lid, to pick up or stop your lips getting burnt when drinking from it?

I'm just curious because if it's the latter great... I'm always burning myself trying to drink hot coffee!
Wait for me...

I used to use one on my Ti cup, but got annoyed with having to put it on and off when I'm using a fire

I've now stopped using it entirely, I find the Ti is too poor a conductor to heat the rim, I just drink carefully so my lip doesn't touch the side wall for a first few sips, just the rim

I think I managed to squash my mug slightly out of kilter with mine so I've binned it. Wrist band that is, not the mug!

The lid doesn't sit perfectly square any more. It might not have done to begin with I suppose...

Snow Peak has an interesting solution for the burnt lip business on their Ti mugs.
