Viewranger gpx track won't load into Garmin.

I plotted a gpx track on viewranger then downloaded it to the pc. Plugged may etrex 20 into the computer and dragged/dropped the track into it as usual. Opened the etrex and no track. Tried this a couple of times and still nothing. Opened bikehike and uploaded the viewranger gpx track from the pc then downloaded that to the pc. Plugged in the etrex and drag/dropped the bikehike download into it and voila, there it was. Anyone know why the viewranger gpx track failed to load?

Viewranger exports a GPX in a horrible format using route points instead of trackpoints. The garmins hate this format.

Bikehike sorts this out for you by carrying out the conversion from route to track points.

I had the same problem bunging a gpx track onto my dakota. Both mapsource and anquet wouldn't play and dragging and dropping the GPX file onto the thing likewise didn't work. Bike hike did the job fine.
