Stitching Scanned Maps

Anybody done it? Scanning map sections and need to reassemble the dam things!

i've done it before (on a small scale) and the key was to have a system for naming the scanned files which makes sense to you when it comes time to fit them together.

it also makes sense to scan along the same horiozontal grid lines so that all of your stitching is along the vertical lines only (as the horizontal already line up from clever scanning) and then you can stitch the long horizontal strips to make up your desired area.

do you have photoshop (or something else other than paint) as that'll make things a lot easier?

Figured out photoshop, think I need a better machine now! Trying to stitch a route across a country is chaos!
