Fattest tyre on a Flow?
What's the widest tyre folk have run on a Stans Flow? I fancy putting something wider up front, and am sort of tied into using a 29er Flow (as it's in the spares box). At the moment I'm on 2.25 Nics at both ends, on Salsa El Mariachis. One has a Reba if that makes any difference, the other is a rigid fork so has loads of space.

My mate is running 3.0 Knards on crests so anything just about should fit!

Re: Fattest tyre on a Flow?
I have Flow EX on two bikes, on one of which only on the rear. There I run X-Kings and Mountain Kings, both in 2.4". On the other bike mostly Magic Mary and Hans Dampf in 2.35".
Anything up to the old and true 2.5" of Schwalbe looks great, also on the narrower Flow (w/o EX).
Having seen Knards 3.0" on an other rim with 25 mm internally, I woudn't recommend running it on any Flow. Knards look like eggs and behave accordingly in corners on too narrow rims. Anything from 30 - 45 mm internally should give it a good shape.

Thanks. Something like a 2.5 is what I was thinking, as while I'd like to go 29+ up front, if it's going to roll and burp that's far from ideal.
Re: Fattest tyre on a Flow?
i would expect a 2.5 to be fine and would happily use that on a flow. Personally, I wouldnt go lower than a 35 for a knard for the reasons alpinum states

I heard people were putting Knards on Flows. I didnt but by all accounts it worked OK

Incidentally, I've just bought a Knard which is going on the Flow (and a bike to fit around it). I will report back, assuming it doesn't end in disaster.
