Scotland @ half term

Post by 99percentchimp »

Very tentative at present but am thinking of a winter trip to Scotland over half term in a few weeks... maybe just a few days/nights
No set location yet but I'm thinking of Cairngorms or central Highlands at present either west of A9 into Ben Alder area (not sure if Culra is in a fit state at present) or east of A9 into Glen Feshie/Tilt.
Obviously very weather and ground conditions dependant but maybe a couple of days linking bothies - no massive mileages but just to get out for a few days.
Let me know if anyone fancies joining but flexibility will be a bonus.

Have fun Chew - I would have recommended George (III/4) on the back of Liathach but apparently some of it has fallen down recently making it harder below the main chockstone pitch.
Will keep you posted on that weekend - when do you need to be back home?

Poachers Falls is also worth a look. It's a belter, steep but rewarding!
if you get good conditions Umbrella Falls can be a soft touch

Sad to hear, when I was last there it was obviously being very well used, a popular spot

The MBA were due to carry out some major work but they found both white and blue asbestos in the building. I'm not sure what state it's currently in but it is definitely not available
