Does anyone do this? I find my thermal liner gets tangled up and sometimes tries to strangle me in the night. so, I figured if it was on the outside, the chances of that happening would be less and it would (might) protect the outside of my bag from condensation.
Stupid idea or might work?

I guess it would be a good idea but isn't that a extra bivvy bag
It would create another layer, I agree I hate liners as they just get all twisted up and end up at the bottom of the bag causing hot feet :(
We would have to get one made larger to go over a lofted bag, who can make this???
