I have never ridden across the newly opened froggat / burbage edges.. so fancy a start somewhere to suit.
Can someone suggest a start point? and a 2 hour ride?
If not, I'll make something up and update here no worries.
If we could start a little earlier, great, if not 7:15 is fine.
if we meet at the road side parking just up from the fox house pub (SK 267803) we can do longshaw, white edge, baslow triangle, curbar-frogatt, up burbage (which is still pretty trashed and muddy at the bottom due to the forestry work) then back down houndkirk. Options to do an extra loop down into Blacka if we want to extend the evening.
I was all by myself, I started from blue john, headed over mam tor, which took ages. Knee deep in places, cant see the path at all. I was going to head down to castleton but since its not all that well known to me I dropped down the edale side. Got a bit further on and couldnt see the bridleway at all, even though it follows a sunken trail. So I followed some footprints down the footpath instead. fell off 3 or 4 times.
At the bottom I decided I couldnt be bothered walking my bike up chapel gate and over rushup so just spun up the road and then went home.
If it's any consolation, Ian and I didn't fare much better! 20 miles in 3 hours including several comical collapses-mainly me and hard work in the snow going up to stanage pole from Redmires.
