Zdb I would love to know how you got on with your neoprene socks. Also are they bike specific or just booties from a wetsuit?

Cheers

Or if anyone else had 'foot suscess' recently feel free to share. As I have tried plenty of things with little suscess. And I hate overshoes.

I reckon they'd survive a floor for a good few months of moderate use ... even more if you've been round first and done your Mrs Mop impression

Slightly longer blade ... always handy when stealing Jase's cheese.

Neoprene socks are from triathlon wetsuit company BlueSeventy, designed for swimming. Yet to use them in anger - they will be tested either this weekend or next.

I will report back with my findings - hate cold feet, and I seem to be more vulnerable as I get older!

I've used neoprene socks for years. Originally for winter fell running (up to 10 hours!) and now for on and off road biking. If it's very cold I'll wear a thin pair of socks under but usually just in their own. Feet will be wet but warm too.

Can't be doing with over shoes. Especially off road.

Get tem from decathlon watersports section if there's one near you.

Thanks for the comments. I suffer terribly from cold feet when they get wet, to the point where I use flat pedals in the winter with insulated hikeing shoes. The shoes weigh a ton dry and when wet seem to double. So neoprene socks may be the answer. I will definitely be trying some, I just wonder how well they drain after being submerged. Zdb keep be posted on how you get on with yours and anyone else feel free to contribute. I have a pair of rab vapour barrier socks to try as well, but I think for wet feet neoprene booties may be alot better.

Cheers

Drainage can be a probablem I've always made a tiny cut between the big toe and the second to allow water to drain. Even with out this your feet will stay warm though

Have you tried gaiters over your boots? Water ingress at the top is the main issue. If you can keep the water out, you should be OK.
I rode the FF with some waterproof (but non-goretex) running boots and gaiters over the top, and feet were dry for both days. There was a lot of water about, besides the fords. Someone commented at the finish that me feet looked dry (Sussex Paul?), and they were.
