Re: Ford Fiesta write ups
Very good Dave it looks like it was a successful outing, I wish I could have made it but alas Friday nights weather changed everything as Saturday I spent trying to put my house back together

Nice one, some lovely pictures there

How are you getting on with 'one bike for everything', not sure how I could cope!

Sadly my catchy phrase "A Bike for Life" has often been understood to mean only having one bike. That is not how I intended itvoodoo_simon wrote:Nice one, some lovely pictures there

For me it was about a bike
- that will last a lifetime
- that will be incredibly reliable and low maintenance
- be very adaptable for everyday use, touring etc
All these criteria my Shand Stoater meets brilliantly. It was great on the Ford Fiesta, got me everywhere and was a delight to ride.
The adaptable is great when it is gradually evolving but would be tremendous hassle to convert between off road and general transport frequently.
Besides the Stoater I also ride:
- a Whyte Suffolk for club rides and fast day rides (again the Shand would be just as good but you can't switch handlebars, remove racks, mudguards etc every week)
- a Bullitt cargobike for the loads I just can't manage on the Shand.
