I remember reading about a month ago that the people in the know were forecasting a very cold winter, starting from mid december.

Now, it did have a little cold snap about 2 weeks ago but its 12-15 degrees outside at the moment. Whats the score?

Yeah, it is well warm, but also well windy. Taking me ages to get home in the evening (I am getting to work quite quickly though), and only having to wear a gilet and normal shoes as opposed to winter stuff is nice.

You can blame me, I'd recently bought lots of warm socks, a load of sealskinz stuff and a lovely Paramo coat so I could cope with the winter

Judging by the forecast, the cold weather appears to over Rovaniemi at the moment. About -20 to -28 over the next few days. I'll be keeping an eye on the forecast there to psyche myself up/out for Feb...
