MT500 Shorts alternatives

Inspecting my MT500 shorts after the Winter Bivy I noticed that the seam tapes have all come lose from the seams on the inside. This is a bit shonky given that they've only really had ~ 500 miles use.

Any other recommendations for something arse friendly, higher quality and keeps the water and filth at bay?

I've been using Polaris something or others ... although not actually waterproof they do keep most weather out and dry quickly. Not expensive either.

eBay Goretex trousers and cut them down. No stitching required either. Mine have a massive arse but I reckon going down a size they would be fine. £18, and the first pair of waterproof shorts that actually keep me dry.

I woudl have a nice word with Endura (mine had delaminated) they sorted me with a new pair, even though I was out of the warranty period

I've got the orginal eVent MT500s and they,ve lasted for miles & years.

Stu found some NOS ones somewhere.

I can recommend the Gore Alp X 2.0 GT AS Shorts they are really good and hardwearing, I have had 4,000 miles
out of mine and they are still OK.
The only problem is that this model has been discontinued and the replacement looks a bit dodgy !
I recently found my size of the old style at Rose bikes and had to pay a premium but I like them so much I had to buy them
to put them in the store cupboard for when my current pair finally give out

My MT500s have thousands of miles on them. I'd second getting hold of Endura.

Andy has it. I remembered that I bought a pair of the Gores a while back but the waist cord adjuster had broke. Dug them out and did a long wet windy one this evening, they were perfect. But good advice and I'll post the MT500's back and see what happens
