Riding partner needed

Post by foxforks »

Hi all,
I've entered BB200 for the first time this year after previously doing Mach and back and El and back. Last weekend my riding buddie (Rob Wixey) informed me he's highly unlikely to be taking part due to work commitments, so at the moment I'm flying solo. We did a practice run a couple of weekends ago and completed 207km in 26 hours which included a 5hr kip under a tree. I'm aiming for the 24hr mark and hopefully not needing a kip but looking at the weather that might be a little optimistic. Just wondered if there's anyone who fancies a riding partner as I'm feeling a little rusty and nervous on the GPS side of things. Post up if you are interested in letting me tag along, Ta

Just turn up and set off. You'll end up riding with other people for big stretches regardless ... just how it works out.
May the bridges you burn light your way

I nearly bailed on WRT this year because I had no buddies but a few people of the forum talked me out of it and I'm so glad they did.

I'm having a stab solo at the weekend, going to plod along at my own pace. (I won't ask you to join me because you sound a bit too quick for me)

Don't worry about the GPS there'll always be someone behind you to shout if you go off route. :-bd
Wait for me...

Please don't take this a dig at you, it's not. But as I understand it the premise of the bb200 is that of an ITT.
Independent time trial.

Now I've done my fair share of itts, some completed with others, some 100% alone.

My advise would be to be mentally, physically and kit wise fully prepared to complete it alone. If you happen to ride in good company of others, that's just an added bonus. Alone, well that should be grand too
