North Pennines - Some piccies.

Post by Richpips »

We're just back from a family holiday where we stayed near Appleby in Westmoreland. We didn't bike pack, but we did get out on the hills on bikes most days.
It's the first time I've been up that way, and was stunned by the areas beauty.

If you've not ridden there it's worth a look as an alternative to the lakes.

Worth noting, is that the bothy marked at NY 673 347 is little more than four walls, though there is another a couple of K to the NE.

High Cup Nick is stunning, ridden it many a time in the past, if you haven't ridden it before come in from the East, seeing it open up is amazing. Bridleways in the North Pennines are not abundant but if marked then they tend to exist on the ground.
