Beaded tyre tubeless?
Just fitted my new Panaracer Comet hardback tyre which is a beaded tyre and I've set it up tubeless, went up no problem so here's hoping it stays up overnight. Also fitted Continental Race King folding tubeless, bit tighter to get on but it went ok, hope that stays up too. Test road ride in the morning then off road sunday (most likely with the minimal kit fitted that I intend using for my Borders 300 ride).
Re: Beaded tyre tubeless?
Both tyres lost a bit of pressure overnight but I've learnt to expect that from newly fitted tubeless tyres. Jobs a good un

Ray, have you never had any trouble with porous sidewalls on folding Conti's?
May the bridges you burn light your way

Hi Stu, this is the second folding conti I have done and not had problems, loses maybe 5psi over a week. Both have been mounted on stans crests, stans tape, stans valve and tyre sealant. You had problems?

Re: Beaded tyre tubeless?
Never managed to get a folding conti to hold air for longer than 24 hours. I can get them to seat but the amount of bubbles that come through the walls is scary ... resulting in a flat tyre overnight. I keep thinking I'll try giving the inside a coat of diluted pva and see if that seals the walls. You had problems?

Very odd, can't say I'd noticed bubbles coming from the tyre wall, around the bead yes. Are they old? maybe they changed something in the manufacture. My x king is a year old and my race king maybe two years or a bit older.

Re: Beaded tyre tubeless?
To recap mine and my BIL's experience.
Stock Salsa Fargo Race Kings w. Wire bead: Tubeless as if they were made for it on Sun-Ringle Rims
Stock Salsa El Mariachi Trail Kings but with folding bead: Tubeless eventually (on the same rims as above) but very leaky as per Stu's experience.
I've got some X-king folders from the Spearfish I've yet to try......fear they'll be leaky!

As all tyres are beaded, I figure you mean wire as opposed to kevlar

I just fitted some folding Conti Race Kings (the RS version) and they did seem quite porous on the sidewalls. Needed an extra injection of 60ml of fluid after a couple of days of them leaking air. OK now and hold 30psi of pressure for over a week without any problems.
Couldn't get the damn things to inflate with a normal track pump in the first place though - had to use the ghetto-compressor method to get the bead to seat on the Stans rim.
