Bikehike problem.

Post by Ray Young »

Tried for three days running to plot an OS gpx track on bikehike but when I come to a certain area (about 10 square k) it keeps telling me the daily usage allowance has been reached even though I have twice tried to do it before 9am. Anyone got similar problems or even know why it's happening?

The tiles are subject to OS fair usage limits. Is it a popular area that's just seeing a lot of use? Maybe post up the gpx here for us to try?

Now sorted. Was on the Southern Upland Way near the Three Brethren, must have been some sort of event on for that amount of usage.

Now that's sorted something else has cropped up,

Bikehike total height gain.........33,372 ft.
Viewranger total height gain.....41,668 ft.

:???: That's quite a difference!

I have noticed that if you get the data usage reached message, then closing the window and opening the site again often then switches you over to using the Bing maps version of OS as opposed to the Open Space API version.

This doesn't always work though. :|
