Hmmmmm, we are low down and near a swampy inlet.
Could be bad......
Could be fine as we are close to the sea.....

What a great weekend. Sunshine, sea, sand, fat bikes, ice cream, fish and chips, ice-cold beer, midges, banter, kids tearing round, international space station, bacon rolls, marshmallows, open fire, wild camp. Ace :)
Thanks Matt for organising, and thanks everyone for great company.

vaguely exciting weekend; thanks to Matt for organising and everyone else for making it a truly memorable weekend for the whole Gair Family.
Kids found the travelling in the heat a bit much so we're planning one more local to Chepstow for August 16/17. Anyone up for it?
The Peregrine Trail looks like our best bet: http://www.sustrans.org.uk/sites/defaul ... nepath.pdf
Campsite here: http://www.syecampsite.co.uk. with pub nearby if required!

Looks great, gutted we had to miss it but what with politics and an expected trip back home for a funeral my whole week got turned upside down.
Luca was particularly gutted as he wanted to win - I had explained many times it wasnt a race but he wanted to be in front of whatever it was!

Makes me want to have kids again...
Still, grandchildren are both in their second year now, so maybe in a couple of years.
Wildgecko, that site is on my comute; the Saracens Head Inn is adjacent (owned by a mtber) and the site owners do canoeing. The Peregrine trail is level but a bit 'there and back' though can be incorporated into a little loop including a ferry crossing and a wire suspension bridge

We go out into the hills to lose ourselves, not to get lost. You are only lost if you need to be somewhere else and if you really need to be somewhere else then you're probably in the wrong place to begin with.
