Looking for sleeping bag advice.
So I currently have two, a rab eclipse 120 (extreme +2) and a cheap tesco lightweight synthetic will big claims in temperature range (extreme around 0).
I dont need a 4 season bag as I tend to hibernate in doors from late October to end of April.
However, given tge current weather I am a bit concerned that my bags will not be warm enough for a 3 day trip in the Highlands starting on the 2nd may.
So, after browsing the tinterweb the bag that sticks out is the vango venum 300 down.
The pros are;
800g weight
0 degree comfort limit
22x15 pack size
£100 price tag
Before buying it is there anything else I should consider? I am not too fussed about weight but a smaller pack size would be nice, unless it comes at double or triple the price.
Are there quilts with similar temp range but smaller pack size? Do they tend to be much more expensive?
Any advice would be great. Thanks.

Don't want to hijack, and this may not be what you're looking for but I have a North Face Snow Cat -12C bag for sale... I'm pretty doubtful about its ability to get down to -12 but it might be ok for around freezing... though it is a few years since I've used it.

Re: What Sleeping Bag?
Look at comfort ratings not extreme. If you are out in that bag around the extreme limit, it'll be a night to remember.
Then think of how warm to you sleep and go for a higher rated bag if you sleep cold.
If always go for a 0 comfort rated bag, which will get you through the majority of the year which you can add a jacket to if it's getting chilly.
There's a few bags on the classifieds which are worth a look at. (I have an Alpkit PD400 which I can't fault although you may want to haggle a bit on the price)

I have a Vango Venom 300 and it's always been great for me. I have used it down to about -3/-4 wearing a down jacket. I was plenty warm. I do sleep warm though.

Re: What Sleeping Bag?
Is anyone familiar with the UKHammocks brand?
They make a summer fill top quilt;
http://ukhammocks.co.uk/shop/article_7. ... D7.-001%26
Fill: 350g
length: 1.9m
Width: 1.25m
Weight: 650g (aprox)
Colour: Olive Green or Coyote Brown
Temp Rating: -6c (21.2f)
For the price of around £130 it seems like a bargain for a -6 quilt. Even if that is an exaggeration I only need something comfort rated to around 0.
At 650g, a 3 ltr packed size, -6 comfort rating and all at £130 is this almost too good to be true?
Has anyone used or seen one of these?
