Bikepacking with Kids

Post by Alexinthepeaks »

Hello everyone,

I'm excited to announce the launch of a new Facebook group called Bikepacking with Kids - UK! As a passionate bikepacker with over 10 years of experience, I've recently started planning adventures with my 10-year-old. During this journey, I realised there's a real need for a dedicated space where UK families can discuss and share their bikepacking experiences with kids.

This group is designed to be a supportive and inspiring community for all things related to family bikepacking. Whether you're planning a quick overnight trip or a multi-day tour, you'll find tips, route recommendations, and a place to share your stories and photos.

I believe bikepacking offers incredible opportunities for young people to explore, learn, and grow. It's a fantastic way to get kids out and about, away from screens, and into the great outdoors.

Join us in Bikepacking with Kids - UK to share your adventures, ask questions, and connect with like-minded families.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/606998565373251/

Looking forward to seeing you there and hearing about your journeys!

Timely, as I've dabbled at bikepacking locally with my kids (currently 12 and 9) which has lead to a bit of a tandem build at the moment after the 9 year old expressed an interest in something bigger like the WRT this year. :-bd

Great idea thanks. I've toyed with the idea of going out with the kids. They're 8 and 5. Looking forward to seeing what others are doing.

Aww excellent! I take my toddler every year. I've kept it local for the past 2 years, but thinking of the Devon C2C this summer. Just need to juggle the logistics of a trailer and train

Nice one, Alex.

Do you know cyclesprog.co.uk? Karen there may be worth getting in touch with for some mutual promotion.

Excellent idea :-bd
I've sent my request to join. I've been bikepacking with my 9year old daughter over the last few years. Now having to plan on taking my 5 year old son along with us. Logistics around carrying equipment and easy route ideas are the headache, but looking forward to seeing other peoples ideas to get inspiration.
