After being completely overwhelmed by bread based food in Spain I'm very much happy to be back to eating salads in the UK!

No weigh-in this week. Not very strict, a full day of eating and drinking yesterday and out of routine this morning with no run either. Back next week

Last post on here, over 10 days ago. Hope everyone is still in good spirits God Willing and still on the project. Right, with the formal encouragement out the way I'll share my sorry story and ammendments.

It wasn't going very well at all. Hovering at around 88kg when I should really be down to 80kg by now. The eating less by having a shorter window for it, obviously didn't work. So last week I started a little project.

Let's call it the, 'protect my light project'. So I plan on buying a rear Exposure in USBc flavour. But, why not work for it by putting it out there in a comp.

I posted the competition in our little cycling club Telegram discussion (on Bros on Bikes). Then another post on another Strava group and finally on this here forum. For some reason it doesn't look like the competition has gained much interest or momentum but that's not a problem as I get to win and keep it all for myself.

"What the heck is Shafiq on about" I hear you stress  Well, I'm trying to get a streak of 21 days of cycling with 21 miles each day. Miss a day and I starts again!

Did 2 days and life got in the way (again). Work/shifts completed and today I've been out again after resetting my streak to day 1. Rode about 35 miles and when weighing myself I've successfully started losing at least 200g per day.

Watch this space but at that trajectory I should be at about 85kg by the time I finish (if I continue the current streak). Also, yes there is an also  , I've put my name down for a couple of £20 shifts that don't really pay petrol. Involves taking blood from a willing participant and sending it to the research labs people.

What the heck has that got to do with the price of belly fat I hear you ask once more  Well, both visits are about 40 miles away. They are two days apart and if I drive or take the train it means I will have spent more than what I'll get paid.

So. You guessed it!! I'll be cycling there and back which means round commutes of over 85 miles. I'll probably eat through my wages but at least that'll also eat some of the flipping fat... Keep working and eating raw olive oil everyone.

Back in the UK, and about 1.5kg heavier than when I went out. Which probably makes sense as I did overdo the beer a bit when feeling sorry for myself. lol

Back at it, next event in a month.

Nice1 Richard. I thought I was the last man standing and was a bit lonely thinking I'm the only one still playing. Early dropout rates this year maybe!! The weather :o

Anyway, less eating hasn't worked too good for me but trying to ride everyday seems to be helping. My plan b being to try and remain in a calorie deficit state. Watch this space and hopefully you can knock that 1.5kg off quickly...

I've now got a sore knee that's stopping me running. I did a ride instead last week and that also aggravated it. Now having a couple of weeks rest to see if it clears. Hopefully, be back in it soon

I have to admit, I've been comfort eating as a result. I might be like Richard and comfort drink too.

I'm still about ... just stalled at 15st 2lb ..... so nothing to report.

Got my Woods Rat Run in less than 3 weeks and that's 180miles over 4 days so that should help....

Nice one you lot. That's great news that we are mostly all still on it. Stalled is not the same as 'given up'. Stay strong, we can do this...

Death to the belly fat

I'm on day 6 today now of a small streak of daily riding. Let me go measure just now. Certainly seems to be helping. Today's ride will have to include a bit of gravel though... Roads are getting tedious!

Did a "recovery" ride yesterday and yeah... really didn't feel like recovery.

The next week is going to be rough.

Weight is absolutely all over the place right now. Today's reading was 59.1kg, which is the second lowest I've got a record of (possible I was lower in university, but no way to know for sure).

I can only assume I came back from TBR with serious swelling and it's finally starting to go down. Either way, I might need to up my calories a bit as that's too low.

 yes fair point...

Anyway, bit disappointed today as I'd walked 18 miles yesterday around Bronte County. But today's weighing scales told me I'm 88.5 kg. So about 1kg heavier. Hopefully it's water but so far today I've not had any chocs or crisps or biscuits. Lunch consisted of tuna, boiled eggs and various salads!

Walking after work another 5 miles. Hopefully the knees hold out until I decide which poles to buy!

After having a couple of weeks off and with my knee feeling better, had a light, short jog today. Weighed in at 76kg which is was it is. Knee did flare up a bit on the way back so walked the rest of the way. Plan to take it easy over next few weeks. I have a trip to Scotland in the next month, so trying to make sure I'm ok for that

Still not been able to train properly due to niggling issues from Trans Balkan Race. Starting to panic a fair bit now as running out of time before Salzkammergut.

Fri 12th Jan - 86.0kg
Sat 9th Mar - 88.5kg
Friday 7th June - 87.2
Friday 28th June - 87.6kg

Getting there and in no small part to all this cycling and the 1000 miles walking mission I'm on (45 miles and counting). Very thankful indeed and I reckon by next week I'll be sub 87kg again. Today I'd have been on a few 100g less but after early morning prayers I had a big bowl of cereal.

Alhamdulillah and also ultra appareciate of this thread and Moder-Dye for starting it off this year :-bd

Weight largely stable, but a terrible week for training, mostly due to stress / being crazy busy.

20/1 - 77.8kg
....
19/4 - 75.8kg
27/4 - 74.9kg
4/5 - 74.6kg
11/5 - 74.9kg
18/5 - 74.4kg
6/7 - 76.6kg...despite this being an increase I'm ok with this. Over the last week I've had 2 good bike rides and a 5km yesterday and no flare up from my sore knee. I was aware of it but no pain. Hopefully, it's on the mend.

Maybe try rubbing in olive oil, drinking it and also trying to get some turmeric capsules from H&B or somewhere. I believe they are also a herbal anti inflammatory. Keep eating good (like really, if you smoke or drink, just cut em out as I'm sure we'll all live without) and you'll see the benefits (GodWilling).
