Odd question.

I've had 2 Trekology pillows. https://trekology.com/products/trekolog ... 4958885954
They've both failed to hold air.
I put the first one underwater and there were multiple bubble streams from the top side.
Trekology replaced it and now the 2nd one does the same.

I have a grizzly grey beard and whilst it's not exactly spikey, when I've trimmed it I have had hairs embed themselves in my skin.

I can't really think of anything else that'd could possibly cause this. I have a friend with the same pillow and he's had no issues, he doesn't have much of a beard.

No matter how spiky your hair is its not going to pop a pillow . Perhaps its so rough it wears away the layer but i cannot see this either.
Perhaps those pillows are juat poorly made

I've yet to puncture a balloon with my historical beard or moustache. Let alone a pillow. Good shout going for a s2s. Maybe a Thermarest next if that doesn't behave

It is a good thought indeed and something I'd have definitely contemplated myself. I used to have a stubble beard a few times in life and it'sa tough cookie. The ends are just not sharp enough though. Will be interesting to see what the final verdict is on the one that's problematic...

I've been using a trekology pillow for a few years without issue. I also don't have much of a beard. It doesn't answer your question but does provide another data point.

Is it not the food bits that are stuck in said beard causing the problem?

My beard is like a wire brush and several years of exped pillow use has not caused any punctures. Highly recommended!

I had a similar thing happen some years ago, but I don’t remember the manufacturer of the pillow. Multiple air leaks over a wide area. At the time I put it down to using Deet. I’ve always been a midge magnet, and not knowing any better, was using Deet spray to keep ‘em off. At bed time, of course, the Deet stayed on my face and presumably transferred to the pillow and then affected the material.

Now I use Smidge, but haven’t had a pillow long enough to tell if my theory is correct. Just puttin’ it out there as a possibility.
