Washing E-vent question?
Do I need to reproof it with reproofer liquid after washing or do I just wash it in nikwax washing soap and that's it?
Re: Washing E-vent question?
I think you just wash it and it's supposed to improve with washes.
Not the same as Goretex :)

Re: Washing E-vent question?
I use one of those eco-friendly washing liquids for most washes. From time to time it gets treated to a wash with Nikwax Tech Wash and then with TX-Direct to reproof it. HTH.

A quick note on the TX-Direct.
I was once told not to use the wash-in stuff as it has the potential to coat both sides of the fabric reducing breathability. How true this is I do not know! Makes some sense to me, so now I just use the spray on as it gives the user more control.
Food for thought.

Everyone always says different things when this question pops up as there seems to be various schools of thought on it. Personally if under 2yrs old ill use the Nikwax techwash regularly then tx direct every 6-8 cycles. When its getting on a bit and i no longer care about the DWR I put it in with the normal 40' wash but reproof more regularly. After every wash ill steam iron on low heat on the outside.
