Have you tried the boiling water trick. Then some Milton. Works for me, but I have to keep at it. Mine is also a clear (well, the two clear ones is what I'm having problems with) by Camelbak. Not £49, but £12 and a few of em. Was just a gutted but the boiling water is keeping the damp smell at bay!
