Poles....

Post by Dan_K »

I've been using a one of my 50" carbon poles from my stratospire 2 for my lunar solo but it bends which suggests to me that it's slightly too long. A quick google suggests 49" would be better.
Any lunar solo users confirm the correct length?

Stu, what would you suggest for a replacement pole?

I'd see that thanks and was planning on ordering one but want to be more certain of the length etc.

Sixmoon design reccommend a 125cm pole, the actual height of a Lunar is slightly less than this, so the extra pole length is what raises the edges off the ground. I'm inclined to go for a 130cm pole as it should make getting a good taught pitch easier on less than ideal (not flat) pitches. If you needed it set lower just scoop out a little hollow for the pole to sit in or off-set the pole slightly.

10.5mm diameter will support a Lunar fine, it may flex a little but it won't bend. I made Mart a custom carbon pole for his Nemo (very similar to a Lunar) but it would be harder for a Lunar due to it requiring a spiked tip.
May the bridges you burn light your way

Thanks Stu. The pole(s) I have already are 127cm. Sounds like I'm better sticking with them and digging a hole!
