Don't know what happened to my spot I did get the last room in Lincoln. Needed a sleep and recharge everythingDave Barter wrote: ↑Tue Jun 14, 2022 9:43 am Steve is definitely going for the hardcore approach, can't think why he did not push on to Lincoln for a motel stop just down the road from his current bivy?

I did just strip and rebuild my freehub and fixed shifting problems trailside - did you get that?
And I had a shower last night.... hope you didn't see that

Reading elsewhere that a lot of riders have been evacuated by helicopter. I worry that this will get back to the Park Authorities who may stymie the event in future years. Also seen reports of a hotel in Whitefish being trashed by riders, it's not a good look for the race. Imagine if the Daily Mail got hold of this.

Yeah, I was thinking the same. Not very 'self-supported' or 'leave no trace'. I do sympathise with the tough conditions, but it was in the forecast, right?Dave Barter wrote: ↑Wed Jun 15, 2022 3:28 pm Reading elsewhere that a lot of riders have been evacuated by helicopter. Yesterday got over Koko Pass okay, I was going great feeling positive, then about 20 miles out from Fernie the bear spray on my handlebars went off. I could see in the gravel where I slammed on blinded then swerved into the a rock. Thankfully(!) hitting that rock stopping me going into the river. Evacuated by helicopter, in hospital with 7 broken ribs.
There are theories at the bottom of my jargon.
Re: The 2022 Tour Divide watchers thread.
I once ended up in a Drum & Bass night in Fernie, that didn’t end well either. The lad I went with went missing for 3 days…
(Hope everyone stays safe out there!)
