What are everyone's preferences for stove lighting?
Anyone found their perfect solution?
Personally I have settled on a box of normal safety matches, a 60/40 split of normal and water/wind proof in the same box placed in a plastic ziplock bag. Weight is around 15g but then if its a longer trip then I'll also pack a 2nd box stashed in my valuables drybag. Cost around 50p per box with the windproof additions.
My reasons for not using-
Zippo- Heavy, difficult to invert into meths stoves.
Turboflame- Heavy, unreliable.
Silva Helios- Most plasticky piece of tat I have ever had the displeasure of wasting good money on.
Flint/steel- Difficult to get meths to light in cold temps.
Generic Gas Lighter- Close 2nd to the matches but again difficult to invert into meths stoves. Sometimes carried as a back-up. Not great in wind.
Have I missed anything that is the holy grail :?:

The only thing you may have missed would be -

Not played with one yet but looks handy although it's 50g. Turboflame turned out to be my biggest waste of cash

That does actually look pretty nifty. As long as it's reliable then the £20 seems ok, but is it reliable :?: :!:

That thing looks good for lighting the mKettle actually. £20 looks a bit steep to me though :?

TGO did a little review on it. The long and short is ... Powerful, very wind resistant, strong, directed flame but a bit weighty and bulky. 46g without the lighter and it'll burn for 20 minutes. They did say it was very handy for pre-heating meths stoves. That thing looks good for lighting the mKettle actually. £20 looks a bit steep to me though

Re: Stove Lighting?
I find a lighter works ok, reliable. I just pick up my whitebox meths stove, tilt it, lights easily.
Have got flint and steel too, but it can be a bit of a pain although gently grinding out some filings before a good old strike normally works

Re: Stove Lighting?
Here we go ... stupidly long windproof matches. Light your stove from the next field

I've used the flint from a Clipper (the plastic bit that you can pull out) when my weight weenieism was at its worst... Worked pretty well but I'm a smoker again so I use a mini Clipper now.
