Sleeping bag in saddle bag stuffing?

I can stuff it in there but not in a drybag first and then in there. Just wondered what anyone else does if they do this?*

I could try a bin bag in there first then scrunch then end in?

Whatever happened to the alpkit seatpack shaped drybags or did I imagine that?

*sleeping bag probably too big to fit on midge bars with sti cables poking out

Sea to Summit do some good compression dry bags - just like a dry bag and a sleeping bag stuff sack in one.

I tend to use one of them strapped direct to the handle bars but I do plan to get a handlebar harness of some kind.

I'd be wary of stuffing a sleeping bag straight into a seat pack without a dry bag. Your seat pack gets caught in the line of fire from your rear wheel and everything will end up a bit damp.

I can fit an 8l drybag on my drop bars (just) if that helps

I nearly died trying to get it into an 8l bag, it needs a 13l rolled down a bit

bar space is even more of a pain with the canti hanger and cables

I'll try again with a normal airlock 13l in the seatpack before I start stuffing, instead of trying to stuff a stuffed bag in

they are due in i'm told - i contacted them to ask as i want one! also discussed with Ian as wildcat are looking at getting some made, they were waiting on factory samples when i asked him at the BB200.

who ever can produce one first i will buy!

I just use put a large drybag in the seatpack (open) then squash the sleeping bag into that so that it's a good fit to the contours of the seatpack, then close up the drybag. I have to say that I've never had any seepage into my Revelate Viscacha, so this is very much a belt-and-braces approach.

Revelate do a seatpack shaped drybag - http://www.backcountrybiking.co.uk/prod ... n-dry-bag/. It easily takes an Alpkit PD600. I've nottried it in a seatpack as i have the terrapin harness.

I found I can do it by rolling down the outside of the saddle pack, putting a normal airlock (thin) in and stuffing it and rolling it shut then rolling the saddle pack up. Impossible to do with the pack on the bike though!

I put my schnozzle pump bag in as a liner, then stuff all the fluffy down gear into that ... fills all the nooks and cranny's.

I never bothered getting the pump for my synmat, is it worth it? If it doubles as a dry bag for that I wouldn't mind. Any rough idea on litres capacity?

Sea2Summit or some other brand do stuffsacs with an Event end panel. I've found these can help sometimes.

Not sure that would help in this scenario though as the aire you're trying to pump out of the sleeping bag/drybag would be trying to escape into the saddle bag??

Any rough idea on litres capacity?

Must be something like 30L but weighs nothing. I would use it as a standalone dry bag but as a second layer inside something else, it's great.
