I'd like to try out a 1030 with my os maps memory card I have. The 1030 plus looks nice but money and no memory card slot....

Let me know if you have something, I'd rather try second hand in case I don't get on and have to shift it on.

Thanks in advance.

You can upload additional maps to the unit, but just be aware Al, if the map is an ‘ookie’ one, it may disappear after an update!

You mean upload os maps to 1030 plus as it doesn't have a memory car dreader like the 1030?

My os maps are official :)

If it’s the same as the 830 (which also doesn’t have an SD card slot), then yes pal, you can upload additional maps & select which one is displayed in the head unit menu..
Not sure how you’d get your Garmin OS map from the card onto the unit if it’s locked though!

The 1030 has a sd card slot, but the newer 1030 plus doesn't have one. I think it's the same, 830 no sd but an earlier model has one.

Id like to think I can just put my sd card straight into the older 1030 and it will work... But right now I have no way of double checking.

Would like to presume it’d be fine with a standard 1030, hopefully someone can confirm.
There were also rumours that a 1040 was coming out this year, if so it could be worth waiting as that would surely effect 1030 pricing..

I have a 1030 and can confirm that the SD card slot accepts a micro SD card with OS mapping on - I bought a Garmin card (might have been hookie, but was supposedly taken from a returned unit.....)

I didn't realise the 1030 plus didn't have an SD card slot - is the 1030 still available or is it Plus only?

Brilliant. Thank you for the confirmation of the 1030. I can pick a used ebay one up, but there is more of the newer 1030 plus, which I can't use a memory card with.
