If you dont mind 5 miles of undulating road we could ride up past strines then up the dukes road to get to back tor. that all ridable. in fact the tarmac road probably has steeper sections!

Thant sounds good. I've been up foulstone road but not dukes.

Pick a dry or frozen night that'll be lovely.

dukes is pretty solid most of the way up, there's only a couple of 'sticky*' sections which are fairly obvious and a short part which can be muddy befre the flags start.

it is possible to go up abbeybrooke too, but the top section would be hike-a-bike and/or across the moor on a bearing. Fun but less actually riding, all good though!

Speaking of (possible/likely) hike-a-bike there's some good options further nort to link up with cut gate, but it would need to be dry like now.

Also a nice loop on the other side of the res. past ronksley cabins which could be worth a go next week if it stays this dry.

A good ride last night. Ronksley sounds good next week if it remains dry. Dave and I initially intended to go to cut gate last time-I forgot Abbey Brook was in the way!!

Mark from memory I think there is a quad bike track over middle moss from round hill heading towards margery hill and on to cut gate, it would probably require a recce on foot, or a serious sense of adventure :D

Yup.
Dave any chance I could borrow that harness from you. I've got the week off and I'm going to try and get out this weekend.

I should be there. Not sure about the rest if the Sheffield contingent.

Does anyone have a burly front QR I could borrow to try out. Dynamo hub is working well but the magnets are dragging the connector round a bit due to my weight weenie micro QR.

Hi Paul,

Sorry but unfortunately I come straight from work and havn't brought it, I had thought to dig it out for next week. I'd not have time to go home for it before riding.
You're more than welcome to pop over for it any evening. Or, as I drive past every day I can meet you next to the res to collect it any night.
We can sort it out tonight if you like.

Or if we are thinking of riding ronksley cabins we could meet at usual place and drive up. I'll have space on my bike rack and in the car...

Paul might want collecting if he's riding from home?

Do you have my number Ian? I'll pm it over anyway. Mark and Paul have it

Im happy to meet anywhere, I can just leave earlier. How about at the turning circle at the head of the Howden reservoir? or the far west arm of Howden, I'm sure that there is parking there for a few cars, but will mean a big climb from the off.

Brilliant ride, lots of pushing and even some carrying, and only one wet foot.
Same again wednesday?
