QR with slot dropout?

ime with other slotted DO / track end bikes, yes / maybe, but the chain force isn't the issue. It's the disc brake reaction force that can shift the axle easiest. Nutted axles resist that force a lot better.

I've been doing this for ten years with various Inbreds and other slotted frames without any problems at all. Just use a chaintug and all should be well. BTW, Shimano QRs are better (more solid and secure) than many others.

Re: QR with slot dropout?
Slot D/O Inbreds come with tapered washers (the inside of the slots are tapered too). These help 'lock the wheel in place. They do work but require a QR you can apply plenty of force too without it snapping ... having had that happen on the first afternoon of the HT, I can assure you it's not much fun.
May the bridges you burn light your way

Same here. I use a chaintug on drive side of my slot drop out inbred with a quick release skewer. All works well.Charliecres wrote:I've been doing this for ten years with various Inbreds and other slotted frames without any problems at all. Just use a chaintug and all should be well.
