Not a happy kipper...

Post by Matt »

Right it's all a bit bollox.
  • Haven't ridden my bike for weeks now
My house is a bloody building site
Missed the BB200 which I was really looking forward to
    Can't make the winter bivvy
Maybe try Mach & back but can't seem to get motivated
Not even walking the poor dog
In short not in a happy bike / bivi place at the moment..

Decamping to Wales for Christmas hope to get on my bike, maybe in my sleeping bag and sort it out

How's everyone else?

Your list is similar to mine:

Haven't ridden my bike for weeks now - hurt knee on the BB200...
My house was a bloody building site, but now it's all finished its lovely and I'm pleased with it.
Can't make the winter bivvy
Maybe try Mach & back but can't seem to get motivated
Not even stroking the poor cat

Chin up fella - if you're in Wales over Christmas, drop me a line and we'll hook up for ride. I promise nothing too far/fast - you could show me around for the best bits around Aberdovey, or Mach area. I can even bring a bike with gears :)

I could just say MTFU but I know from experience it ain't that easy, if it was you'd have already done it. I always think it can be hard to find motivation at this time of year. I sometimes find planning to do something that I'm not really prepared for can 'scare' me into finding motivation for riding ... might be worth a go.

I too have a list which involves building sites ... like Ian says, it does all get finished one day. ;) as for dog walking - come and take the llamas for a walk, that'll put dog walking into perspective.

MTFU is fair, it's not like I'm properly wrong in the head just a bit... meh...

I'm northern, I'll snap out of it. Ian I'd be up for a ride :)

In fact stuff it, I'll bob home at lunch time and get the lights on charge. Ask me how the ride was tomorrow and we'll see..

mmm let's think, crazy training plan reaping results, playing with the new Garmin, have ridden the the last four days and have 60+ miles of riding tomorrow, another 40+ on Wednesday, awaiting delivery of a Bulgarian bag, Mach n' Back is booked, have a Renthal chainring which is waiting to be mated to Homebrewed cog when it finally arrives and the bike will be ready for that silliness, already thinking gear lists :D

Well didn't go out on the bike but did walk a few miles and had a pint on my own (well with the dog)

Not sure if this is a good thing or not. :)

It's a start. You've ticked off one of the things on your list :)

Why not click this, and start pedalling. Anyway whatever motivation you're lacking, it can't be as bad as trying to fit Crud Road Guards, a complete pain in the ass!!! Dunno where you live but if you need a lift to Mach 'n Back, there is a spare bike carrier on the car and you are welcome to play co-pilot, I'm coming up from the Watford area. :)

Paul, :) thanks I appreciate the sentiment, I really do but for me that video is an absolute bag of shuffle! I don't live my life by those sort of rules and not being 2nd place will never be my motivation. In fact if I came 2nd, 5th or last if I had more fun than the chap in first place I'd be happy.

I used to run cross country at a fairly high level, played squash for a decent team but I don't regret getting a bit fat and a bit sub standard at both of those.

I just need to sort myself out and when I do it will be more awwwww than grrrrr.
