Sorry if this doesn't really deserve its own thread, just I don't think they guy has that many in stock!

They have some of the new ones over at Charlie the Bikemongers, just arrived :ugeek:

The new ones are different, no slots for the straps.

Round the back of the fork legs I imagine ... hopefully the straps will be a touch longer than the old ones, I always had to use my teeth to pull them tight :shock:

I will have a play when they arrive and let you know... :geek:

I know the design has been changed because the old ones would snap after a bit of abuse...

Edit - looks like the straps thread through at the back of the cage...

That picture ^ looks like one of the old design when compared to my pic ... be interesting to see what's been done.

I've got an original design cage, obviously I don't use it as much as Stu etc.

Do you think I should carry on using it or contact Charlie/Salsa to see if they will do an exchange?

Couldn't hurt! Not sure what the guarantee set up is though!

I know Charlie himself is off at a race til wednesday but there should be people in the shop/computer widget end of things...

Well it showed up today - looks pretty good and sturdy. 146g for the cage, 177 with the straps (packaging says 98g/120g but I'm assuming its the old packaging). Looks and feels pretty good, I'm happy this will tote my tent or possibly sleeping bag with no trouble. May fiddle with the third hole, there's always cable ties :lol:
