The Elite ones are ok for water bottles, but I don't think I'd trust one on a fork with a kilo of stuff hanging off it. Gert big jubbly clip is what you want.

Why not just try a strip of old inner tube between the cage and the fork and then strap it on with three or more chunky cable ties. It spreads the load across the cage bars and is amazinly strong.

Stu, is that broken cage one of yours?
The elite ones might be OK for only 900g of gear. A 750ml bottle will weigh ~800 grams when full of water.

I'm glad to say no ... the person I was riding with snapped the top mount on both of his over the weekend. Fractured on the weld which joins the main cage to the fork mount.Stu, is that broken cage one of yours?

Interesting. Looks like the fork only had the upper and lower mounts too, so maybe with three mounts it'd be OK.
