Free Rear Light - There's a Catch

Post by sean_iow »

I found this rear light in a field when out walking yesterday

I picked it up as it was in a field with livestock and it's litter, I have a rule where I aim to pick up one piece of litter on every ride/run/walk.

It charged up and it works. It's just the 'light' bit and is threaded at the base so I guess it screws onto the 'mount' bit. So if anyone has the same light and wants a spare of the 'light' bit in case theirs fails or as a second to carry as a backup for when yours goes flat let me know and I'll send it to you.

Would that fit into a drop-bar end?

Measuring with a ruler it's 25mm dia so too large? But I guess you might be able to bodge it somehow, maybe with a bit of rubber hose on the bar which it poked into? You'd need to be able to get it off to charge it as the socket is on the back. But you can have it to try as better than going to waste.

It's a Cateye ORB rechargeable rear light (obv without the 'female' part and rubber strap).
I'll have it please if no-one else wants it  I can cover p&p or drop some pennies into BB funds :-bd

It's not an Orb, it doesn't match the pictures online. I've got battery Orbs and it's different from them. I perhaps should have started with the thread 'Identify this rear light'

You are quite right, it's not the cateye orb. Similar but not the same thread and my orb has little 'peaks' over the lens / cutouts to sides.
