Recommend me a vest please

Post by Cheeky Monkey »

I find I prefer them as base layers. I run very hot and sweaty and (whether it's all in the head or a real thing) I find it more easy to cool off with one as a base layer rather than a T or LS version. The XL Howies one i recently got needs a hot wash to fit better.

So, what can people recommend?. Synthetic or merino and links to cheap are always good. Ta 8-)

I had one of Ground Effects 'Ristretto' Merino vests for a while and loved it. Don't know where it's gone, chine to think of it, but it was good.

As soon as I saw the title I thought "I wonder how long it'll take for a picture of Rab to appear". Low and behold..... :D

I've got one of these and it seems to be quite good. Feels really warm and that it shouldn't work but I'm a lot less damp after a ride now.

k'off :P

I quite like the string vest / mesh vests but what with my ample tertiary insulation (body hair) it isn't a pretty sight :?

Ta.

Bizarrely a google search turned up the same ones via Amazon although they weren't on Howies site. Picked up a Large for £19 + £4 postage.

I have a bullet proof one. Seems to work well for my trips in to King's Lynn.
