I've obviously told her no way (speak now if you think otherwise). Backstory is that they managed to find him a dwcwnt ebay deal some months previous but neighbour ran it over. Nephew is about 8 YO now and average height for age.
Anyone got anything decent and located in or around Edinburgh?? Budget I reckon would be less than £80
No help with the question I'm afraid Shaf but I see it only weighs half a pound less than my Spearfish!
I know it's not a fair comparison, my pedals cost the same as that whole bike, but no wonder when I'm out on the cycle path and I see kids out with their families the little ones cant keep up.
I'm sure my first bike didn't weight that much, but perhaps modern safety standards have added to the weight? It wasn't uncommon for frames to get snapped back in my day but it was just considered that we'd been riding them inappropriately
Thanks Sean... Yeah, I concluded many moons ago (although the rule might not apply to folk on here) that kids that grew up on (really) crap bikes dont ride into their older age. Even did a subjective market research on the theory - involved asking older folk that ride what they grew up with - which concluded the same...
I do hope she doesn't buy it and am looking on fleabay for her. But seems that anyone with anything half decent feels they want 80% of what they paid
NB. Based on my rule I don't fit in. I'm probably riding cos I only learnt to ride after age of about 20 but did buy a Marin (Palisades Trail) as a Christmas Club deal as my first...
My twins have a cube 18" MTB and a pinnacle 18" MTB
They are great little bikes Andy were only £40 each off gumtree.
Very light, they can even carry them. Decent components and easy to get replacement parts as they're built with standard size bits.
Good luck finding something
Hi my son has his 24” wheeled carrera Abyss which he had out grown, really good condition.
Although it’s 24” wheels it’s a small frame, a bit like a 29er for little people it fits bigger wheels into a small frame. May lads riding came in a treat with it.
I expect he’d be delighted with £65

Steve. You ain't up in sctoland are you?? Whats the chance that you'd pack it and post it for me. Would you check that everything works properly so they can just put bars and wheels on then get out and ride??
