Wants an mtb to ride with his lad who's 10.
Aesthetics is important to him (doesn't like the look of gravel bikes

Budget is around £300
I'd rather not allow him to buy anything with cheap bits on it

Thanks Stu... he actually had a budget of 300 to 400... I'm hoping I might push him up a few more quid to a Pinnacle or Vitus at 450 and 500 respectivelyBearbonesnorm wrote: ↑Mon Oct 21, 2019 12:57 pm At £300, I'm not sure there'll be any other kind of bits except cheap if he buys something new.
Sorry Graham.. I forgot to specify... the bike we're looking for at the mo is for himself (his little un should be sorted)ssnowman wrote: ↑Mon Oct 21, 2019 1:06 pm I bought one of these for one of my boys when he was a similar age. Obviously not top end stuff, but surprisingly not too heavy. Got back almost what I paid when I sold it.

My lads abyss was a cracking little bike, it’s a bit like a 29er for really small people, 24” wheels when most bikes that size would normally have 20’s. He progressed almost instantly with the bigger wheels and it wasn’t a big heavy lump.Dave Barter wrote: ↑Mon Oct 21, 2019 5:33 pm I know there will be a lot of hate..but with British Cycling discount this is £360
