Idiots Guide for Tent Repairs?

Post by Chew »

Hole my tent needs fixing. About 1x2mm big.

Is it just a case of cutting a patch out and sticking it on?

How big a patch and inside/outside?

1/ Cut a piece of Silnylon that'll overlap the tear by about half inch.

2/ Glue it over the tear on the inside using SilNet and leave overnight to dry.

3/ Neatly mask the tear on the outside and apply a layer of SilNet directly over the tear.

4/ Job done ;)

Alternatively, tear off a square of gaffa tape and stick over hole. Do same on inside. Congratulate yourself with a beer. Keep congratulating yourself until you're so drunk, a bit of dampness doesn't matter anymore.

Thinking, "I'll fix that properly when I get back" and then just leave it. ;)
