Speedy Tarping - line lock q

Post by jameso »

I have 2 lightweight tarps, one uses a line-lock like this -

They're great. I can do the right knots for tarp set up but when tired / cold I like my tarps to go up easily with minimal cases of Mr Tourettes the Tarp Rigger.. more practice is one option, simpler locks is the other.

Anyone know where to buy something similar to retro-fit to the other tarp I have? Had a look round some sites and forums but only found them as options on new tarps. I could use a climber's prussik on the loops or normal guy line locks but I like how easy it is to change lines around or adjust them using these.

Cheers

The nice thing about having the adjusters on the tarp rather than the line, is it allows you to tighten the thing from inside ;)

Exactly.. especially useful when you notice where the drip fall-lines are forming in the early hours. Ordered a few - it's a good website, loads of handy stuff.

Like some others I use prusik loops on the tarp and a long cord with a spliced eye for the peg. Works well, adjusts at the tarp etc. Tbh I doubt there's much in it either way. Hyoh 8-)
