looking for a nice location, not to far from a nice watering hole.

Only kipped out once on NYM back in my climbing days at Barkers Crags in Scugdale. It's a nice spot with good views and is couple of miles from Swainby which has a pub. A few bridleways nearby one of which runs right by the crag. It's a great bouldering crag if your into that sort of thing.

Not had an excuse to get out over there but i've heard that theres a shooting lodge somewhere witha couple of bunks, between Scarbourgh and Robin Hoods

I still think our idea of Boltby Scar, along the top towards Black Hambelton would be the best?
