PHD Minim 600

Post by Anthony »

Today I have taken delivery of a baby blue (perfect match for the Rab Survial Zone bivvy) PHD Minim 600 :D

It's 2nd hand and there is the odd pulled thread but then it was rediculously cheap considering it's original £305 price tag when new. 10mins with the needle and thread and it will be good to go.

-16'c and will easily fit into a 5L drybag! (Alpkit -18'c would fit into 8L) It's yet to go on the scales, will update your on that one :)

Fit seems perfect, nice and snug on the legs but with enough room for a down jacket should things turn really nasty. Bring on the winter bikehiking again I'm well excited :-)

Twas on OutdoorMagic. I don't very often look on there, but I just happened to be in the right place at the right time as I had only been dreaming out loud how it was on my wishlist a week or so ago. What was bizzare is that it turned out to be from a member that I had bought my neoair from not 4 weeks prior. A really jolly nice chap too, in fact I haven't even paid for it yet, he has sent it for my purusal to make sure I'm happy with it!

A dissapointing 1038g though, I had hoped for under the kilo. The packsize is it's party piece though.

It clearly doesn't have the same loft/bulk as the PD800, but then it has 200g less down so it's hardly suprising. What is interesting is that it's largely the design that gives it an impressive temperature rating for a bag of only 600g of down - it's fill power is only another 50fp up the scale than the alpkit.

It's too warm to try it tnt :(
