MYOG right of passage

I feel I have just entered a new phase of bikepacking - behold my MYOG windshield!

I 'm not very good at DIY - cant even put up shelves - so this may have taken me an afternoon to make but I am feeling a deep ineer glow of achievement :D

Rather lovely windshield material soon to be added to the website (once Dee's computer stops messing about). It's 0.3mm thick and can be had plain or with holes already punched along the bottom edge.

Its not quite like a Caldera cone as the wind shield clips to the pot and doesn't support it, and although its not very clear in the pic there is roughly a 1cm gap all the way round the base of the wind shield and the ground.

Does that sound OK?

Malc, With a coldra design its quite sealed to keep the heat in, but you will need somewhere for the air to get in so the fuel can burn.

It should be fine with a 1 cm gap at the bottom (although im strugling to see how it holds itself up) Just have a test with it to see how it works and if its struggling to burn, add a few more air holes. Although allow for a breeze when you'll be using it outside

Sorry As Chew says a 1cm gap around the base should suffice for intake. If you find that it's a little slow or doesn't seem to be working well add more holes at the top rather than the base. Nice job BTW.

It seems fine; the garage test brought 350ml of water to a rolling boil in 4.40min and seems to be no issues with flame being reduced :D

Chew it has tabs at the top that hook over the pot. Think of it as the pot holding the windshild in place rather than the other way round. The bonus with this is I can fold it small enough to fit in the pot and it should also act as a windshiled for my pocket rocket as well.

Might make a Caldera when my MYOG skills improve or some one shares a template with me - hint hint Ian
