rohloff weight conversion comparison

Post by FLV »

For those of us that care, heres the weight break down of my rohloff converion (not including cables)

Weight Off:
XT Shifters: 280g
40t chainring / 28t chainring 123g
Rear Wheel,
Hope Pro 2 / Sapim Race Spokes / Crest 29er/ Kenda Small Block 8 2.0 / XT 10spd Cassette: 2206g
Front XT mech: 162
Rear XT Mech: 235
Sram 10speed Chain: 263
3269

Weight on:
Rohloff Shifter: 106
Chain: 227
E13 guide ring 51
Rear wheel,
Rohloff / Arch EX / DT spokes / Small Blck 8 / 16t ring: 3267
3651g

Its not too bad an overall weight increase but its certainly a bit more on the back wheel

I have. It looks rather nice. I was considering designing one to see how light I could make one but I'd have to take the shifter off and replace the cables to do it. So wont for a while.
I've also seen the ti rear sprocket, I forget the manufacturer name.
