Home 2 Sea 2 Home.
Tom and I had a lovely few days riding to St Davids in Pembrokeshire, and then back again.
A write up and lots of pictures.

Good work fellas, It's a ride from home that I always enjoy as St Davids some how feels like a proper destination.
May the bridges you burn light your way

It was quite a shock when we arrived. After seeing few people the previous days, the place was rammed. I'd like to return in the winter.Bearbonesnorm wrote:Good work fellas, It's a ride from home that I always enjoy as St Davids some how feels like a proper destination.

It's quiet in winter Rich. In summer there are loads of coach parties of pensioners who do the tea and gift shops then go home.
Newport (up the road from Fishguard) is a nice place. And you would ride over the Preseli's and Carningli's to get there - a million bivvy spots with iron age history (the stones for Stonehenge came from the Carningli's), and the view dropping down is one of the best in the world.
Brilliant trip you had, enjoyed reading that!

An area we'd not been to before Steve. We'll definitely be back.

Enjoyed that. That's a fair old journey (and looks surprisingly direct viewing the map at a small scale!).
I did a little ride around Pembrokeshire last year, it's a beautiful area. My ride took me from a camp site near Pembroke along the coast to Tenby, Saundersfoot, and Amroth then inland to follow the county boundary north up to the Preseli Mountains then east to pick up the Teifi Valley and follow it through to Cardigan. From Cardigan it was follow the coast all the way back round to Pembrook. Three day ride on quiet lanes, cycle tracks and bridleways.

We go out into the hills to lose ourselves, not to get lost. You are only lost if you need to be somewhere else and if you really need to be somewhere else then you're probably in the wrong place to begin with.
