Re: WRT
You might discover that it's actually quite difficult to ride the WRT solo for long. Many people set off on their own but soon end up with company
On a more serious note, there's no reason why you wouldn't be fine solo. There's some pretty remote areas but the WRT weekend is possibly the safest weekend of the year to ride them.

That's exactly how I was last year, I didn't die and it was the most fun I had on my bike all year. Due to 'stuff' I managed only 1 ride combining camping with riding before the WRT. Enter now but be warned it may take over your life1kcove wrote:Hi thinking of entering the WRT i have been riding for years & camping for years, but not together, I don't no anyone from were i live who is going. I managed about 4 hours solo*s8tannorm wrote:You might discover that it's actually quite difficult to ride the WRT solo for long. Many people set off on their own but soon end up with company
*during which time I strayed into "The Dead Marshes"**
**which as it turns out is actually on some track that used to be Glynders Way and not in Middle Earth at all

aslong as your out riding and wild camping.
Re: WRT
You'll be fine. I went solo last year but bumped into people and spent a night in a field ignoring sillybigfella because it was raining and we were both knackered.
Rode for a while with Restlessnative too.
Everyone tends to follow similar routes so you'll see more people than you realise.
I sacked off day 2 though as I was a wimp and fed up with the rain!!!
Obviously, take the normal precautions you would take for a long solo ride and be sensible (if you want). Don't be too optomistic on distance either.
If you're used to camping anyway, it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

There'll be no shortage of willing bods to tag along with. Rain or shine, it's an amazing weekend.

I think it only right to mention the 'C' word and say that there'll be an abundance of it for everyone at the finish

You could distinguish yourself as the premier UK bike event by having vegan 'C' word at the finsh, I was starving last year but just had to drink about 6 cups of the 'T' word instead
