Nov' done (although there might be more). I even 'slummed it' under a 5' x 7' flat tarp ... first time in ages. Woke up to heavy frost, frozen puddles and dawn creeping over the mountains.

Novembers outing ticked off.
Was planning on riding the top end of the Pennine Bridleway, but missed the train from Settle to Kirkby Stephen, so decided to ride northwards and catch the train back the next day.
Got about half way and the weather was closing in, and i knew the rest of the route was quite exposed and it was getting dark, so decided to switch to plan C and find somewhere warm for the night. Right decision as 5 mins later it started to snow and hail.
Spent a warmish night in Langstrothdale forest, before the ride back to Settle the following morning
(no pics, forgot the camera)

November ticked off for Ian and myself.
Into the Black Mountains from Crickhowell
Not a biggy, just shy of 50k for myself and I think about 75ish for Mr Barrington.
Mud, hills, vomit, exposure and condensation made a great night out with a fantastic sunrise in the door of the tarp this morning.
Bloody cold on the ride home this morning.
Like Chew, no pics, as I had a another pressing subject to deal with.
I also didn't have a camera with me.

FF, that sounds like it requires a more detailed trip report

November - done!
Despite sub-zero temps and some light snow I was toasty warm and slept much better than a baby!
Here's me playing around with some long-exsposure settings on the camera:

11/11. Ended up in Sherwood Forest after 100km and rode home this morning over a shorter route. Took my summer bag which was a mistake! Barely slept, but then I rarely do on overnight expeditions.

Achieved in the Peak with Chew, 99percentchimp and Martin in attendance. Chew also got his 12h in. Anybody else. It has been good fun and got me out a few months I would not have bothered.
Any appetite for a 2013 thread?

Re: 2012 Bivvy* a month challenge
I've managed at least 1 trip a month ... granted, some have been 'work' related but I'm still counting them
I think a 2013 thread would be great.

Winter bivi was month 12 for me too with a couple of months getting more than a single night out.
2013 will be done too, have no fear. :)
Pics of the Dec trip are in the Wales Winter Bivi.

Re: 2012 Bivvy* a month challenge
Nice work fellas.
I'm currently working on a little outing for Monday night which (if I can swing it) will leave me having completed 11 out of 12 months for 2012 which I'm happy enough with but will leave me with something to improve on for 2013!!!
Anyone else manage all 12???

Re: 2012 Bivvy* a month challenge
Yes 12 out of 12 for me, and all bivi's.
So far think i've had
20 Bivi's
8 Nights in the tent
9 Nights in Bothie/other buildings
Still plenty of December left as well. Probably continue into 2013, but might be a bit more generous with the tent. Decembers Peak night was definatly tent weather.

My tally is humiliatingly low
Roll on 2013 and please keep the thread going or kick off a new one. Every little motivation helps and it probably drives a few more posts / trip reports.

Looks like 4 of us completed and a very near miss from Gairy. Not a bad response. By popular request I will start a 2013 thread in the New Year.

Re: 2012 Bivvy* a month challenge
I'd join in but her indoors thinks that I would be enjoying myself far too much, bivi every other month for me i'm afraid
. Having said that I do tend to do more than an overnighter when I go :D .

Ray; make every other month your target. What ever works for you and domestic bliss.

Re: 2012 Bivvy* a month challenge
Ray, I am in a similar position. Having a 4 yr old and a non-biking partner makes it difficult to get out for overnighters so every other month sounds like a realistic challenge for me too.

Moved this to the 'Your Trips and Adventures' forum for 2013 where it probably sits better.
