I haven't got much spare change at the moment but my old Wee Airic is getting a little less puffy than it used to be and loses volume through the night. I was thinking of maybe dropping hints around the household that an Alpkit Numo might make an ideal birthday pressie if anyone was short of ideas. It seems to pack down smaller than the Airic and weigh about the same. It's also a full length mat, which would come in handy for winter bivis.

Does anyone have any experience of the Numo?
What's it like to sleep on compared to a flat mat?
Is it a bit like a balloon bed or maybe it's a bit firmer/stiffer?
Cheers,
Rich.
EDIT: Damn, just checked and it's out of stock with no ETA for the next batch :(

Rich how about one of these.

I've got a full length slightly heavier version of the one above and a 3/4 ultralight version like this one.

Both are dead comfy, light and warm. The top one is only rated to 1 season but they feel much warmer. I've slept on frozen ground without any trouble.

Cheers for the links Stu, I didn't realise that there were different companies doing similar things at not-too-costly prices.
Maybe then I'll go for one of those and not wait for the Numo to come back into stock. Actually, TBH, as much as I love them (and I do) I am starting to get Alpkit fatigue. What with waking up at dawn out on the moors and being bombarded by their logo from all directions.
I think the only other non-Alpkit logos we saw on our last bivi were Trek, Kona & Orange (Oh, and Special Brew and Buckfast) ;-)

I wouldn't touch a Alpkit mat if you paid me, mine failed and then a friends failed. Both of us wound up with cold crap nights.
