Anyone else enjoy taping bars?

Post by Bearbonesnorm »

Just in from the workshop having taped up the new bars on my SS. I find it an oddly satisfying experience, can't really explain why ... maybe it signifies that something is complete?

Anyone else enjoy it?

Im a bit of a fuss pot when it comes to taping (or is it OCD?). It has to be absolutely perfect in terms of overlap and spacing it along the bar. I have been known to spend a good 3 hrs until Im absolutely happy, although in my defense having Jones bars the shape is not that straightforward

Saying that its time well spent as never had any problems with it so I must be doing something right

It certainly brings out the ocd. On the road bike the two sides also have to be a perfect mirror image of one another.

Not taping bars no. But I do use old inner tube cut to 1/2" width and wrap it round the chainstay to protect it and yes, it has to be spot on  .
