Re: Alpkit Possum (medium) & Fuel Pod (small)
Hi, thanks for the offer - I'll certainly bear it in mind. I thought I'd stick them on here to see if there were any takers before resorting to fleabay but if there's no interest I'm afraid I'll be popping them on there in the next couple of days.

Alpkit Possum (medium) & Fuel Pod (small)
Hi, I have a brand new Alkpit Possum and Fuel Pod for sale, both in yellow. Bought earlier this year when I had grand visions of going bikepacking on my cyclocross bike over the summer. I did fit the bags to the bike but never actually got round to using them. I sold the bike yesterday so no longer ...

Re: Guidance on average overnight temperatures
Anthony, thanks for the reassurance. I wasn't aware of the reported problems before today but, as I say, mine never ended up flat.

Re: Guidance on average overnight temperatures
Hi gairy, Thanks for the thoughts on the Venom - I have looked at it as well. I'm more drawn to synthetic for it's ease of use/care but haven't totally discounted down. I have only slept on the Peak Elite AC twice but have found it a considerable improvement over a closed cell foam mat, in terms of ...

Re: Guidance on average overnight temperatures
Thanks folks for your responses. Apologies, I had meant to address the whole "do you sleep hot/cold?" thing in my original post but forgot. I'd say I tend to sleep on the hot side. Also, I should probably have mentioned that I invested in a POE Peak Elite AC last year, after having a reall...

Guidance on average overnight temperatures
Hi, I'm totally new to bivvying/bikepacking, having simply done a couple of bivvys on foot towards the end of last summer. I'm planning on getting out more this year, both on bike and foot and am currently researching sleeping bags - what a headache! Whilst weight and packsize is clearly going to be...

Re: Topeak MTX BeamRack - any good?
I never realised there would be so many options! I've now been looking at a Carrradice Bagman Support (£19.99) and a couple of Alpkit Airlok Xtra drybags - one front, one back (around £15) - and a couple of sets of those Gelert straps - the whole lot would cost me little more than £40. Could be a go...

Re: Topeak MTX BeamRack - any good?
Yeah, that Carradice 8L looks like it could be good for carrying a Jetboil and some odds and sods and then sleeping kit under handlebars in a drybag. Think I might just go for an Alpkit drybag to get started before I invest in anything fancier - any good sources for straps for connecting to handleba...

Re: Topeak MTX BeamRack - any good?
Thanks for the responses so far, much appreciated. Having done some more research I'm starting to steer away from the rack and thinking perhaps slinging my sleeping clobber under the handelbars and then a smallish seatpack to take stove/food. Leaves my Mule for water, extra clothes and small bits an...

Topeak MTX BeamRack - any good?
Hi, I'm new to the forum. I live in Basingstoke, ride both road and MTB and at the end of the summer went on a couple of overnight bivvys - on foot. Although I can't say they were the best nights sleep I've ever had I still enjoyed the experience and am looking at trying out some bikepacking next ye...
