Fredbar aero bar attachment for sale
Fredbar for sale as seen on Bikepacking.com and other site's and used by the likes of Jay Petervary on the Divide. It's an ingenious solution for giving a more comfortable position when using an aero bar for bikepacking. It attaches to your steerer above your stem which lifts the aero bar position u...

Fred Bars for sale (new)
I'm selling a couple of brand new Fred Bars. A great little attachment for clip on TT bar's, which gives a far better position for using them as comfort bar's as it's more rearward and higher. It attaches to your steerer above the stem so you will need a couple of inches steerer above your stem. Dir...

I've found that it would be about £30 cheaper for me to hire a car one way from Stoke and drop it off in Glasgow than getting a train.

https://photos.app.goo.gl/c6QmDvypSa4oJyhg6 I'm a little sad to say my hardtail has taken a back seat since I bought my Salsa Warbird. It's got a little bit of extra cushion from the Redshiftsports Shockstem and Ergon seatpost and I love it. Most of my mtb rides always had a significant amount of ro...

Re: Is this being unreasonable
If your convinced and can prove that they have leaked then no it's not unreasonable in my opinion. The only place I would say they could possibly leak is the cleat area? I have had a pair for years and never had wet feet and I only wear a thin pair of socks all winter in them so would know pretty qu...

I did exactly the same after reading they come up small and went XL instead of L and by the time it arrived and I could try it the large had sold out! Sorry I can't help but I feel your pain! Mine's really flappy and baggy around the waist and sit's high up at the back so your backside would get wet...

Re: Gravel bike gearing
If your riding is more akin to mtbing and you're reasonably fit then you're maybe best off with a 1x set-up where you can get away with a larger chainring and still be able to get up the climbs? But if a good proportion of your mixed surface riding includes more road then you're probably best with a...

Yeah, Goat-link only works with Shadow type mech' I recall. Correct, my understanding after 3 hours trying to get a mates R8000 shadow mech to work with the Goatlink10 fitted in addition to the existing hanger. I'd not had the time or notice to read up on them before hand and assumed he had  ...

Re: Dedicated bikepacking bike... 1x or not?
To be fair there isn't much difference between 1x and 2x now at the low end. My mtb which is just used for bikepacking these days is 2x10, 34-20 (the 20t granny is a Mountain Goat which you have to do a bit of filing on the crank to get it to work) with 11-36 cassette gives me a granny gear inch of ...

Re: Seatpost bag, differences
One of the best seat post racks I used before seatpost bags became readily available in the UK was a Bontrager one which was light and very sturdy and once bolted up never budged! They were about £15 at the time but the drawback is that the load hangs out over the back wheel which has more of an aff...

Most of the cycling books I read are a bit of a let down if I'm honest apart from Unsurpassed about Tommy Godwin and the Year Book by Dave Barter. One of the best books for adventure I've read is The Last of the Gentleman Adventurers by Edward Beauclerk Maurice. At 16 he was apprenticed for 5 years ...

Cycle of addiction: Weatherproof but not waterproof... ? I don’t usually ride through puddles deeper than the handlebars, but, like yesterday afternoon the edge of storm Brian was wet, very wet- the Lomo case kept the phone totally dry. How would this SP fare in those conditions ? The blurb doesn’t...

I past him and John Lloyd somewhere past the Clearwen dam which is where he spent his first night on the programme. The Lurch in Aberystwyth at the start of a planned bikepack to Stoke-on-Trent via the Trans Cambrian and Jack Mytton Way but I only made it as far as Knighton as the conditions got the better of me and I caught the last train home with 10 mins to spare. Next time I think I'll be taking a packraft. I...
