Thanks for the advice - I did this (sort of) and had a blast, of course. I dodged the stuff on the western side of Loch Lomond to Helensburgh and used the Balloch cycle path to get me back to the start of the Canal at Bowling.. The rough stuff between Strathblane and Balloch over the top past Burnsc...

Thanks for the input. Well, I had 3 days booked off for Hadrian's Cycleway but my copilot had to bale.. so I am thinking I'll use the 3 days for this instead and if I am making good time, have some time up around Loch Lomond. The big decision is which to take outbound... if we still have these freez...

Hello all, FNG here. I am planning to take the JMW west from Edinburgh to Glasgow and then return by the Forth/Clyde & Union Canal in a week or two - folks from the area on here will know these share quite a few miles in the middle.. Route is taken from bikepacking scotland . I live in Edinburgh...
